Vocation Theatre Courses

PROPS provide courses and workshops which include a full time Vocational Theatre Course, Nationally Accredited Qualifications and part time courses for people of all ages.

PROPS aims to give as many people as possible the opportunity to perform in regular, professionally produced shows, work along side experienced theatre practioners and to develop self confidence and team building skills. Everyone is welcome as long as they are committed, enthusiastic, willing to learn and take direction. We do not recruit by audition.

Regular drama courses in the countryside with a programme of fun, drama based activities and team building exercises.

Full Time Vocational Theatre Course

The full time Vocational Theatre Course is available to students aged 16 and over and is designed to offer practical experience which will lead to professional status. We have students who choose to join the course at age 16 when they have finished their GCSE's and mature students many of whom are post graduates. All students can study for Nationally Accredited Qualifications up to Level 4 (Diploma) in either Acting or Teaching Drama. Part time opportunities also exist. Please ask for details.

Camera work - Sound - Writing for the screen - Acting on screen - Editing - Interior and Exterior work - DV digital, 8mm, VHS.

Timetable 2008

L.A.M.D.A. Lessons

Grade Time
Juniors (under 12) either Monday 6pm - 7pm or Tuesday 4pm - 5pm
Seniors (Level 3) Monday 6pm - 8.30pm
  • Alternative arrangements may be negotiable subject to timetable commitments.
  • As the examinations approach extra lessons may be called on extra days.

PROPs Timetable

  Day Time
Seniors (from age 12) Tuesday 6pm - 9pm
Everyone including juniors Saturday 10am - 1pm
  • When offered/accepting a part in any production it must be understood that attendance at rehearsals/classes is essential.
  • For further details and details of fees etc please contact us.
  • Students at Props School, especially those who attend full time on the Vocational Course may be offered opportunities to tour with Anvil Productions.

The Vocational Theatre Course and Level 4 LAMDA are now full. Please ask for details about places for next year 2008/09.
